The 52m ketch Nazenin V built by RMK MARINE and delivered last year has just been announced as a finalist for the World Superyacht Awards 2010. Reaching the finalist stage is a great achievement for both the yacht and yard, with 90 nominations; just 53 have made the final across all the categories. Nazenin V is one of 5 finalists in the category for Best Sailing Yacht 45m+. The outstanding quality on the finished yacht shows the exceptional achievement by RMK MARINE who in building this has demonstrated the high standards they have attained. Nazenin V is an elegant, classic Sparkman and Stephens designed long distance cruising ketch. The yacht has a fine hull and long overhangs which allow for comfortable cruising with the predictable and easy motion of the yacht. Nazenin V is built using many modern materials and equipment which enhance the operation of her build, the performance of the ketch, and allows for easier handling when sailing. The masts and spars are all Carbon Fibre as is the rudder in order to optimize the performance, handling and comfortable motion of the yacht. The main mast carries a powered elevator/crow’s nest right up to the head of the genoa that apart from providing excellent access for the crew gives a quite magnificent view for guests.

Below deck there is a modern interpretation of a classic raised and fielded teak paneled interior with all contemporary equipment that would be expected on such a yacht. The design of the interior is by Redman Whitely Dixon (RWD). There is tremendous detail in the joinery and accommodation designed by RWD, interpreted and executed by the RMK MARINE in house joinery team under the direction of its joinery manager, himself an accomplished designer.

Throughout the yacht there are numerous artworks on display from the owner’s extensive and eclectic collections highlighting the owner’s commitment for Nazenin V that he wants to use it as a means of expressing his passion for both sailing and the arts. Nazenin V meets the demands of an experienced owner who has sailed the Atlantic 3 times and has made a round the world voyage on his previous yachts..

RMK MARINE ’s capabilities are clearly displayed with the fine range of products it has launched and those it currently has in production. At present in build are Dubois designed composite Oyster 100 and 125 sailing yachts which are progressing well. The Ron Holland designed 45m classic explorer style yacht has the internal fit out underway. This is along with a fine pedigree of explorer style Vripack designed motor yachts so RMK MARINE is now well established as one of the worlds premiere yacht builders.
